ATLANTA,None — Three employees of Atlanta's Parks and Recreation Department have been fired over misconduct allegations involving a risqué party.
The city prohibits adult entertainment when it rents its facilities for private functions, but according to a report from the city’s law department, city staff members rented a facility for a party featuring alcohol and nude male performers.
The alleged incident took place at the Rosel Fann Recreation Center in April. According to the city investigation, staff members who threw the party kept rental fees for themselves.
Channel 2’s Tony Thomas spoke to one of staff members involved, but he declined to comment. Atlanta City Councilmember Joyce Shepard, whose district includes Rosel Fann, is demanding that more action to be taken to prevent similar incidents. The department commissioner said some changes are already in the works.
The investigation also alleges that another worker accepted bribes to falsify paperwork saying probationers had completed their community service hours. He later won his job back through the civil service board. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, another employee was fired over minors having sex during a supervised trip.
