1 arrested after Atlanta man killed near the BeltLine; more arrests likely, police say

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Police Department has confirmed to Channel 2 that an arrest has been made in the murder of 60-year-old Thomas Arnold.

Arnold was shot and killed near the Atlanta Beltline on Feb. 26.

Lt. Ralph Woolfolk says police have arrested and charged 28-year-old Brandon Williams in the shooting death of Arnold.

Authorities identified Williams as the gunman and he is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, amongst other charges.

Police say this remains an ongoing investigation and additional arrests are likely. The arrest comes just 48 hours after police released surveillance video of persons of interest.
