2 shootings in Buckhead are connected, police say

ATLANTA — Police are investigating two different shootings at two different shopping centers in Buckhead. Investigators say the shootings are connected, but we still don’t know how.

The first shooting happened at 3178 Peachtree Rd., which is down the road from the Shops of Buckhead.

Witnesses said someone drove up and fired into a Porsche.

Channel 2′s Audrey Washington obtained a photo from the incident that shows the Porsche with several bullet holes in the windshield.

At least one person, the passenger, was injured and then rushed to the hospital. The other shooting happened at Lenox Village Shopping Center on Lenox Road.

Witnesses told Washington the gunfire started shortly before 1 p.m. Witnesses said at least one person had been shot.

“I was at work making coffee for a customer, and suddenly people were rushing in and out and somebody said, ‘Oh my god someone was shot,’” witness Charles Strobel said.

“Did you hear a gunshot?” Washington asked Strobel.

“I heard something, but I wasn’t sure if someone was hit by a car or what,” Strobel said.
