ATLANTA — One person is dead from a double shooting at a gated Buckhead apartment complex. The shooting happened as many people were returning from Halloween celebrations.
Channel 2 Action News was the first news station at the Allure at Brookwood Apartments off Peachtree Road early Thursday morning as homicide detectives were investigating the deadly shooting.
Investigators said the suspect walked up from behind and asked the victims to be let inside.
Seconds later, the suspect pulled out a gun.
The victims took off running, and the suspect opened fire and ran away.
One person was fatally shot in the head, and the other suffered an injury to his hand. The gunman is still on the loose.
“We know the victims were exiting the gate of the gated apartment complex and the suspect was entering the gate, but we don’t know exactly what led to the shooting at this point,” said Lt. Andrea Webster.
