ATLANTA — Police said one man was killed and another was injured after a gun battle broke out on a metro Atlanta street.
Police said units responded to two locations on Oak Street at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. One man was found with a gunshot wound at 1160 Oak Street at 8:33 p.m. He was taken to the hospital and is stable.
Police found a man dead on the street at 921 Oak Street at 8:41 p.m.
The victim who survived told police he and the man who was killed drove into the area to meet someone. One man got out of the car and was talking to someone in another vehicle when shots rang out. That man was shot and killed.

The surviving victim drove away and sought help.
The motive is unclear. Police have not said if they know the identity of the shooters. It’s unclear if the man who was killed also fired his gun.
Police have responded to at least seven separate shootings in Atlanta since 3 a.m. Sunday following several violent weekends in Atlanta.
