$10,000 reward being offered for arrest of woman seen on video hitting dog

ATLANTA — PETA is joining in the search for a woman seen on a doorbell camera hitting a dog at an Atlanta apartment complex.

Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta is offering a $5,000 reward for information that could assist investigators. PETA is matching that and raising the reward to a total of $10,000 for her arrest and conviction.

In the video released by Atlanta police earlier this month, a woman can be seen approaching a dog and shouting before taking off her shoe and repeatedly hitting the dog with it.

Police say the alleged abuse took place at an apartment complex on Greenbrier Parkway on Dec. 17.

“This dog needs to be separated from the abuser immediately, and PETA urges anyone with answers to come forward,” said PETA Senior Vice President Colleen O’Brien.
