ATLANTA — A teenager is in the hospital recovering after he was caught in the middle of a shooting, according to police.
Atlanta police said the 15-year-old was shot in the stomach when his brother and another person were fighting Sunday on Wortham Drive SW. The gun was fired by the other person, police said.
The teen's aunt said her nephew had nothing to do with the fight, so he stood to the side and watched. His aunt said one of the teens involved ran to get a gun.
She told Channel 2's Audrey Washington, her nephew was shot three times, but he should be OK.
“Then we made him take off his shirt and we saw two,” she said.
The aunt, who asked to remain anonymous, said she knows who the shooter is and plans to call the police the next time she spots him in the neighborhood.
“Every time I see him I’m going to call the police, no questions asked. I want justice because he had nothing to do with the fight. How are you going to shoot the wrong person?”
