ATLANTA — Police are searching for a group of people that drove up to a southwest Atlanta gas station and started shooting.
Bullets hit two people, and a third victim was somehow pinned under a vehicle.
Yolanda Spears said she was heading home when she pulled up to the crime scene.
"People running, people screaming. It was a mess," Spears told Channel 2’s Nefertiti Jaquez. "It's very sad, and it's hurtful to know that people would just let out gunshots while kids are out playing. Just heartless."
Atlanta police said the drive-by shooting happened shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday along Joseph E. Boone Boulevard.
"The preliminary investigation shows one group of people pulled up in a vehicle and began opening fire on a second group of people on the property here behind us," Sgt. John Chafee, with the Atlanta Police Department, said.

In all three men were injured. Police said two men were shot and another man, who they believe was ducking for cover when the shots rang out, was somehow pinned underneath a white car.
"Officers, along with members of the community, were able to lift the vehicle off that male and get him out from underneath it,” Chafee said.
As night fell, detectives scoured the scene for any clues that could help them find the suspects and figure out what led to the shooting.
Spears, who's a longtime resident of the area, told Jaquez she's tired of the violence in the neighborhood and is scared for her family.
She said she doesn't have the means to move anywhere else despite her fear.
“I don't feel safe in my own neighborhood,” Spears said.
