ATLANTA — Carrington Brown, 15, told Channel 2 Action News that if you want to do well at tennis, it doesn’t hurt to start playing when you’re 3.
“I remember just trying to hit the ball back inside the court and just having fun,” she said.

Earlier this month Carrington and 15-year-old Reagan Mulberry both metro area high school sophomores, teamed up at the United States Tennis Association National Clay Court Championships in Huntsville, Alabama.
“We can both rally for a long time at the baseline and we both have big serves,” Mulberry said.
They were doubles partners. However, expectations were not very high.
“Usually it’s very important to build chemistry and communication between partners,” Carrington said.
Which was hard to do, because this was the first time the girls had ever played together.

They were up against teams that had been partners for years. The unseeded team of Brown and Mulberry won six matches in a row, beat the number one and number 2 seeds and won the title.
“It’s so amazing and I’m so proud of Carrington and I,” Reagan said. “Every match we wanted to go out and fight, play our hardest, and win,” Carrington said.
The National Hard Court Championships are next month in San Diego. Guess who will be playing doubles together?
