Two more suspects connected to deaths of a 12-year-old and a 15-year-old near Atlantic Station last year have been arrested.
Police say two 15-year-olds were taken into custody on Monday. One was arrested by police and Fulton County deputies. The other turned himself in at police headquarters.
Zyion Charles, 12, and Cameron Jackson, 15, were shot and killed in November 2022. Atlanta police have previously said they believe Jackson was the intended target and that Charles may have been killed in the crossfire. Police said they believed the shooting was gang-related.

These two teens, who are not being identified due to their age, are the fifth and sixth arrests connected to Charles and Jackson’s deaths.
“Every time I hear about something pertaining to the case, it brings me back to reality that my son is not here,” Tiffany Smith, Jackson’s mother, told Channel 2′s Audrey Washington after the fourth arrest earlier this month. “It’s just such a shock, you know.”

Atlanta police announced on Dec. 7 the arrest of a 15-year-old and 16-year-old on two counts of murder, aggravated assault and gang charges.
A week later, a third suspect, a 16-year-old from Clayton County, was also arrested. Police said the teen was charged with being a party to murder and aggravated assault, along with gang charges.
Derodney Russell was arrested in a stolen car in Clayton County earlier this month. Court documents obtained by Channel 2 Action News revealed that Russell had been indicted on charges of violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act in relation to the shooting.
Police have not released details on the charges the two newest suspects will face.
