Man arrested after wild police chase

ATLANTA — Police say three people are in custody after a wild police chase through Midtown Atlanta Saturday night.

The Georgia State Patrol said they got involved in a chase with a stolen 2020 Dodge Charger on Piedmont Ave. around 11:30 p.m.

Troopers said the Dodge rammed a car stopped at a red light on Irwin Street, went around it and sped onto I-75/85 NB.

From there, the Dodge led troopers on a chase that spanned from Northside Drive to Peachtree Street to the Buford Spring Connector.

Eventually, the Dodge ended up on the Prado in Ansley Forest, where it struck the curb and lost control. A trooper conducted a PIT maneuver and spun the Dodge out.

The driver ran from the scene. Troopers arrested two passengers.

The driver was found hiding under a car at a house.

The driver was wanted for escaping from Nashville, TN, according to Georgia State Patrol. His name has not been released and it’s unclear what he escaped from.

Troopers said he is also wanted for breaking into cars and auto theft in Atlanta.

Police said there was an ounce of cocaine, several grams of marijuana, methamphetamine, ecstasy and two guns in the car.

The other two passengers have not been identified. It’s unclear if they are facing charges.
