ATLANTA — Two children were shot while sitting inside a northwest Atlanta home after someone opened fire in the parking lot, police say.
Officers were called to the Hollywood West Apartments on Gun Club Road just after 11:30 p.m. on Thursday night.

When they got there, they found a 9-year-old who had been shot in the left arm and a 5-year-old who had been shot in the left elbow. There is no word on their current conditions.
Investigators say the children were sitting on the couch inside an apartment when someone in the parking lot began shooting.

They say the target of the shooting appears to be one of the apartment units below the one where the children were shot.
Police have not released details on possible suspects or motives.
