ATLANTA — A woman's family is pleading for help to find the killer behind her unsolved murder.
It's been seven years since someone found Linda Myrick's dismembered body in a vacant lot off Elm Street in northwest Atlanta.
Channel 2's Nefertiti Jaquez spoke to Myrick's brother, who is desperate to solve the mystery.
Jeffery Myrick said he has been living with the pain that pierces his heart for seven years.
"It’s very painful. No one should have to go through this type of pain," Myrick said. "That's what hurts -- the way that they killed my sister."
Jeffrey said she was his only sister.
"Who could possibly do something like this? So vicious? So malicious? That's the thing that gets me," Myrick told Jaquez.

The 45-year-old's headless and handless body was found in a vacant lot in northwest Atlanta in March 2010.
"The reason they were able to ID her is because she had a metal plate in her leg," Myrick said.
Wednesday, when Jaquez went back to the neighborhood where Linda's body was dumped, she spoke to neighbors who still remembered the day Myrick's body was pulled from overgrown grass.
"I really feel bad for the family," neighbor J.R. Murphy told Jaquez.
To cope with the loss of his sister, Myrick said he turned to writing.
For years, he wrote. Now, he has a book titled "What Happened to My Sister?" outlining his pain, her story and his hope for closure.
“That's my only sister, and we were so close. And for that to be taken away from me … it was like a part of my heart was taken away from me,” Myrick said.
