ATLANTA — A driver is recovering after crashing into a woman’s yard Friday morning.
Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News that officers received a report of a crash with possible entrapment at a residence on Atlanta Avenue around 12:40 a.m. Friday.

The 71-year-old homeowner told Channel 2 Action News that she had just gone to bed when she heard a loud noise outside.
She said the noise was so loud she believed it was a tornado or a tree had fallen on her house.
When the homeowner went outside, she said she saw a driver in a crashed car who was trapped, yelling for help. She then called 911.

When officers arrived, they freed the driver from the crashed car. He was then taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
Officers said the driver drove off the road, through a fence and down an embankment.

The identities of the homeowner and driver have not been released. It is unclear what led to the crash.
