Organizers told Channel 2 that over the last four years they have raised over $1 billion.
One student who attends Spelman College told us they were thankful for fundraising events like this.
“It meant everything to me. It ensured that I am able to continue my education at Spelman College where I can fight for the communities that are unrepresented and underserved and continue to be a voice for those who are often silenced,” the student said.
The money raised Saturday night doesn’t just go to HBCUs in Georgia, but for 101 HBCUs around the country.
