ATLANTA — A driver was unhurt in a terrifying crash that sent a utility pole right through his windshield.
Atlanta police said the man was driving along North Avenue near Euclid Avenue before 5 p.m. on Thursday when he struck the telephone pole. The crash caused part of the pole to punch through the driver’s side windshield.
The pole was split in half.
Incredibly, the man declined medical attention and said he was okay.

The driver was cited for the crash.
Georgia Power was called to the scene to repair the pole.
