ATLANTA — Sitting in stopped traffic is never an experience to put you in a good mood. One Atlanta woman decided last month that she would do her best to turn the frustrating moment around for drivers.
Hailey Ann Smith is a harpist and was leaving a wedding at the Atlanta Country Club she had been performing at when she got stopped in standstill traffic on I-85.
Smith said that they were stopped for so long that people started getting out of their cars and walking around.

After chatting with a few other drivers stuck in traffic, Smith decided that since she had her baby grand harp in the car, she’d pull it out and play for the other drivers.
Like her car, Smith parked herself in the middle of the interstate and began playing a few songs.
People started gathering around to listen and record videos of Smith’s melodic instrument.

Smith was just glad she was able to take the frowns of people stuck on the highway and turn them into smiles.
“Sometimes you get ‘stuck in traffic.’ Make the best of it and make someone’s day,” she said in a social media post.
