ATLANTA — The Home Depot is upping its investment in Historically Black Colleges and Universities in 2023.

The home improvement corporation announced on Thursday that it will be investing $4 million into HBCUs with its annual Retool Your School program. The program helps HBCUs remain powerhouses of excellence and create impact.

The company plans to utilize $2 million to expand range of community projects and career resources for students. This includes externships, scholarships, career workshops and innovation lounges.
The other $2 million will go into doubling the flagship Retool Your School Improvement Grant that gives grants to HBCUs.

The public can also vote to give Atlanta HBCUs one of 30 other grants ranging from $40,000 to $150,000.
The Home Deport is also collaborating with the United Negro College Fund to give out $2,500 scholarships to 60 students currently enrolled at a HBCU.
