ATLANTA — Dozens of beagles were rescued from an animal testing facility last month, and now dozens more are safe.

Channel 2 first told you about 27 beagles being taken in by the Atlanta Humane Society after being rescued from a facility that bred the dogs for animal testing back in June.

Now, 24 more beagles have been rescued from the same facility.

The humane society says that many of these beagles are puppies.

They add that they were living in unsanitary conditions, but are safe now.

The pups aren’t up for adoption just yet. For now, the humane society is focusing on getting all 51 dogs healthy.
