Atlanta mayor wants your input regarding the city’s next police chief

ATLANTA — Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is taking a community approach as the city determines who will be the Atlanta Police Department’s top cop.

Currently, the department is led by interim chief Darin Schierbaum, who assumed command of the department after the retirement of Chief Rodney Bryant in April.

While the interim title has been placed on Schierbaum, the department is looking to conduct a thorough search with the input from the community.

“Atlanta, I want to hear from you,” the mayor wrote via Twitter. “What you want in our permanent Chief of Police is important and I value our community’s input to let me know what qualities matter most to you.”
