Police say two cars got tangled up just before 8:30 p.m Saturday on Peters Street and pulled into a nearby parking lot to wait for officers to arrive and write up a report.

Officers say while in the lot, the parking lot attendant got into a shouting match with one of the drivers about taking up space in the lot. After the argument, police say several men showed up and started shooting at the damaged car hitting the driver.

Channel 2 Action News spoke with Terri Alexander who had just left a nearby bar and saw the shooting.

“As soon as I walked out the club, I heard, it was like 4 shots.” Alexander said. “I’d never, even in Texas, I’d never been around a gunshot.”
