ATLANTA — Atlanta Public Schools will postpone in-person graduations, school officials announced Wednesday.
Graduations were originally rescheduled for the week of July 20 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Officials said Wednesday that the decision was made due to safety concerns associated with the "substantial spread of coronavirus cases" in the last few weeks.
“In an abundance of caution, APS administrators decided against bringing graduates, their families, and District employees together for large, in-person events at this time,” officials said. “However, the District is committed to rescheduling graduations for a later date when the community health picture improves.”
