Atlanta rapper Lil Marlo killed in shooting on I-285, police confirm

ATLANTA — Police have confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that Atlanta rapper Lil Marlo was killed in a shooting on I-285 Saturday night.

Atlanta police responded to a crash near the Benjamin E. Mays Drive overpass at 11:30 p.m.. and found the 30-year-old driver dead inside.

Police said the car was traveling south when the driver, now identified as Rudolph Johnson (Lil Marlo) was shot.

Investigators believe the rapper was the intended target and they are working to learn more.

No one has been arrested in the case.

Lil Marlo has been on the Quality Control record label since 2017.

Lil Yachty posted about the shooting early Sunday, writing on Instagram, “We just did a song a 4 this morning smh rip brother.”
