Atlanta school bus driver charged with making sexual remarks to child on-board

ATLANTA — An Atlanta Public Schools bus driver has been arrested for allegedly making sexual comments to a child on his bus.

According to police reports, Ricky Williams was caught on surveillance video maxing inappropriate sexual remarks to an 11-year-old boy on the bus.

Officers watched the footage and confirmed that Williams attempted to solicit the child by having a conversation about sexual acts with him.

Following the incident, Atlanta Public Schools officials released a statement that reads:

The incident is being actively investigated by the Atlanta Public Schools Police Department (APS PD), and the driver was arrested for enticing a child for indecent purposes. The district has procedures in place to remove employees from their worksite once there is evidence of potential wrongdoing affecting student or staff safety. The results of the investigation will be submitted to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.

Williams is being charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes. His current status with the District is unknown at this time.
