Car involved in KSU quarterback’s killing recovered; $10,000 reward offered

KENNESAW, Ga. — Authorities have released new information and a reward in the killing of a Kennesaw State University football quarterback.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office posted photos of a black 2014 Ford Fusion it said was used in the homicide of Ladarius Clardy which happened on July 1 in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida. Investigators want information on who was inside the car during the shooting.

Authorities said someone sprayed bullets into the 18-year-old’s car while driving. A 19-year-old was seriously injured.

“He was killed to the tune of over 50 rounds into his vehicle that he was driving and he had this 19-year-old passenger with him,” said Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons.

If you have any information leading to the arrest of a suspect or suspects you could be eligible for a cash reward up to $10,000 by remaining anonymous and calling Crime Stoppers at 850-433-STOP.

“We are glad to announce the additional funds for anyone providing information as to who conducted this senseless act,” Simmons said.

KSU Athletics released a statement saying, in part:

“We are devastated and heartbroken over the death of Ladarius Clardy. Ladarius was an excellent teammate and left a mark on this program with his positive attitude. He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ladarius’ family at this difficult time.”
