ATLANTA — Parents and students are taking advantage of the weekend's opportunity to buy back-to-school items without paying taxes.
Shoppers at the Best Buy in Kennesaw are taking advantage of a special statewide sale right before Georgia students head back to school.
"It's tax-free weekend, so you can't go wrong," shopper Tanner Patton said.
Patton starts at Kennesaw State University this fall and is using the savings to upgrade laptops.
"More money you save, the more money you can spend on a better laptop," Patton said.

Channel 2's Matt Johnson saw shoppers at Kohl's in Henry County enjoying tax-free deals on clothing marked with a price of $100 or less.
Georgians will save an estimated $75.5 million through Sunday at midnight, according to the governor's office.
If the crowds Johnson saw at the Best Buy on Barrett Parkway, this tax-free weekend is shaping up to be a busy weekend.
"We had a huge line of people hoping to get into the store. It's going to be constant all day," Best Buy General Manager Phillip Reid said.
Employees say only Black Friday brings in bigger crowds for computers.
Parents say the extra savings goes a long way when they're shopping for their children.
