The bank issued a statement on the app, saying that there is an issue with the Zelle money transfer feature.
“Zelle transactions made between January 14 and January 17 may be delayed in occurring and posting to accounts as requested. Transfers will be completed and will appear in your account activity and balances as soon as possible. We apologize for any delay or inconvenience.”
It’s unclear how many accounts have been affected, but Bank of America was trending on Twitter Wednesday. Some users were reporting missing thousands of dollars from their accounts.
Twitter user Baraza Eddie wrote: “Woke up missing $6,000. Bank of America, I need my money ASAP.”
