ATLANTA — Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding a woman’s body that was found near a northwest Atlanta park.
Atlanta police say that around 5 a.m., officers patrolling the area found an unresponsive woman near the entrance of Collier Park.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as 30-year-old Ashley Chappel.
Police told Channel 2′s Elizabeth Rawlins that Chappel had minimal trauma, possibly from a fall or medical issue, but they are still investigating what led to her death.

Channel 2 Action News cameras saw a large area of the park taped off with crime scene markers and several cop cars in the area.
Police have not provided any additional information regarding the investigation.
