ATLANTA — Authorities confirm a body found in northwest Atlanta is that of a missing man.
The family of Austin Hart told Channel 2 Action News they now have closure.
A private investigator the family hired found the 25-year-old’s body in the 1000 block of Neal Place Thursday afternoon.
“We would have rather been the department to discover the body but any help we get from the community we welcome,” said Atlanta Police Sgt. Warren Pickard.

Police said the remains were found under some tires.
“That's very concerning for us,” Pickard said.
Hart's family reported him missing Tuesday. They said someone called telling them Hart's car was abandoned.
A younger brother called Hart the biggest influence in his life.
“He was probably one of the most kind people ever,” Hart’s brother, Preston Wysocki said.
Now the family must deal with loss for a second time.
“I've actually lost another brother,” Wysocki said.
Investigators are working to learn if drugs played a role in Hart's death.
“We're just going to let the facts reveal themselves through the autopsy,” Pickard said.
Police say they're investigating whether someone hid Hart's body at that location.
