A Canadian staple in the restaurant industry has started construction on its first location in the state down in Columbus.
In April, we first reported that Tim Hortons was planning to open 15 stores across Georgia in the next five years, starting in the Atlanta and Columbus markets.
WTVM-TV reported Thursday that the state’s first location is currently under construction along Veterans Parkway in Columbus, with its grand opening expected later this spring.

Tim Hortons is known for its iced and hot coffee, donuts, and breakfast sandwiches. You can already buy their coffee in metro grocery stores.
Tim Hortons was founded in Canada in 1964 and has expanded to more than 5,200 locations around the world. Most of its locations are in Canada and the northern parts of the United States, but the company has also announced locations in the Houston, Texas area as part of its expansion efforts.
