Couple who met filming Netflix’s ‘The Circle’ in Atlanta engaged

ATLANTA — Could you fall in love sitting in an apartment by yourself talking to someone you’re not even sure is real?

This couple proved that it’s not impossible to do, or at least it’s not impossible to start a connection.

Jadejha Edwards and Darian Holt met while filming the seventh season of Netflix’s competition reality series “The Circle” in Atlanta.

“The Circle” allows contestants to join a fake social media network and only communicate with other players via social media messaging. At regular intervals, the players rate another with those rated highly earning the power to block one of the lower-rated players from “The Circle,” eliminating them from the show.

Oftentimes, many of the players aren’t even playing as themselves. Because “The Circle” is based on anonymity, some of the players choose to “catfish” the other contestants and play as someone else. So, after meeting in the game, Edwards and Holt couldn’t even be sure the other was a real person.

Nevertheless, the two built a connection and even began referring to each other as husband and wife while in the game.

After Holt was eliminated, he was given the opportunity to meet one player in person, and he chose Edwards. The two shared a kiss before he left the game for good. Edwards was eliminated just a few days later.

On New Year’s Day, the couple announced on Instagram that they had gotten engaged.
