ATLANTA — New cases of COVID-19 in Georgia are at their lowest since July of 2021, before the delta wave of the virus.
The Georgia Department of Health confirmed just 182 new confirmed cases of the virus on Monday. The current moving 7-day average of new cases is 506.

Cases of the virus have dropped 43% in the last two weeks and deaths have decreased 30%. Hospital admissions have also dropped by 37% in the last two weeks.
The majority of Georgia is now considered to be in the low-risk zone for COVID-19, though some parts of far southeast Georgia remain high-risk. Some counties in the northwest metro Atlanta area are at moderate risk.

More than 30,000 Georgians have died of the virus since the start of the pandemic.
COVID-19 vaccines have been approved for anyone five years old and up. At least 63% of Georgians have received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 56% have been fully vaccinated.

Just 2,723 of the 30,441 Georgians who have died of the virus were vaccinated.
