ATLANTA — Firefighters say they did not find evidence of a chemical spill or any hazardous materials after reports of a chemical spill at a plant in Midtown Thursday.
The incident was reported at a sewer treatment/pre-treatment building on Deering Road and Loring Drive.
Channel 2′s Richard Elliot was at the scene, where Hazmat decontamination units suited up to search the building.
Officials later said the building was cleared without any evidence of dangerous materials in liquids at the facility or in the air.
Officials said a contractor who was working at the facility reported smelling chlorine, and they called 911 out of an abundance of caution.
