I-75 reopened following deadly crash investigation, Atlanta police say

ATLANTA — Authorities have reopened I-75 after investigating a crash that killed one person Sunday.

Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News around 2:53 a.m., officers received reports of a crash on I-75 northbound before Northside Drive in Atlanta.

Officers said the accident involved a Kia Soul and a Chrysler 300 with a possible entrapment.

Officials confirmed that the driver of the Kia Soul was killed as a result of the crash.

During the investigation, police learned that the Kia Soul was traveling southbound on Buford Highway when they hit a concrete wall, rolled over, and then fell onto I-75 northbound expressway split.

Authorities said that the Kia Soul was then hit by the Chrysler 300 that was traveling on I-75 northbound.

The driver of the Chrysler 300 refused medical treatment, Atlanta police said.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Police confirmed there were no other injuries reported.
