ATLANTA — The Atlanta Police Department is investigating a deadly gas station shooting in Buckhead Thursday morning.

The shooting happened at the Chevron gas station off Piedmont Road and Morosgo Drive around 2:15 a.m. Police temporarily blocked off part of the intersection.

Investigators have not said what led up to the shooting. But two witnesses told Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach the shooting was related to an ongoing dispute at the gas station.

After being on the scene since just after 2:15 a.m., police cleared the scene shortly before 6 a.m.

APD later confirmed that the shooting victim, who has not yet been identified, was involved in a dispute with a security guard at the gas station.

Channel 2 Action News is still working to learn more about what led to the deadly shooting, and if police are searching for a potential suspect.

A clerk at the gas station told Gehlbach that the guard ran from the scene after the incident, but police have not confirmed if they’re looking for a suspect at this time.
