ATLANTA — A Delta Air lines flight from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport landing at Los Angeles International Airport experienced issues as the tires blew upon landing, the airline said.

In a statement, a Delta spokesperson said the following:
“Thanks to the flight crews’ handling during the landing process, Delta flight 515 operating from Atlanta arrived safely and came to rest on the taxi way after a possible issue with some of its tires at Los Angeles International Airport. Customers were deplaned and bused to the terminal. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”

Upon exiting, passengers onboard the flight tweeted about the issue with the tires and said they could see a set of tires that were stranded.

Los Angeles International Airport released the following statement:
At about 1:13 p.m. Delta flight 515 arriving to LAX from Atlanta reported experiencing a mechanical issue upon landing. As a precaution, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the aircraft. No injuries were reported and passengers were taken by an airport shuttle to the terminal to be accommodated by the airline. Airport crews are inspecting the runways.
