According to a Delta spokesperson, flight 1277 from Dallas “experienced a flat tire and the plane came to rest on the taxi way” around 3:40 p.m.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane landed in the grass. A few taxiways were closed by the incident. All of the more than 100 passengers were off the plane by 6 p.m.
A passenger onboard the plane told Channel 2 Action News, “We had a crash landing. Two tires are flat. We landed sideways on the runway. We are still stuck on the plane. Docs are onboard assisting one person so far.”
There have been no confirmed reports of injuries.
In viral video of the incident that circulated on Twitter and TikTok, a flight attendant can be heard telling passengers that he understands people have connecting flights to catch, but that “Believe it or not, we have bigger issues that we are trying to resolve.”
Social media influencer Tasha Kebe was on board the flight and said it was natural for her to begin livestreaming the incident as it happened.
“The plane kinda tilted a little bit to the side and then it said, ‘Bam!,’” Kebe explained. “Everybody was screaming when we went bam and then the plane just kinda lost control.”
