ATLANTA — The musical adaptation of Baz Luhrmann’s revolutionary film “Moulin Rouge!” takes the stage at Fox Theatre next week.
“Enter a world of splendor and romance, of eye-popping excess, of glitz, grandeur, and glory! A world where Bohemians and aristocrats rub elbows and revel in electrifying enchantment,” the theatre said on its website.
This musical adaption tells the story of A poor Bohemian poet in 1890s Paris as he falls for a beautiful courtesan and nightclub star coveted by a jealous duke.

The musical features all-new mashups that span 160 years of music from “from Offenbach to Lady Gaga. The stage musical features many of the iconic songs from the movie, and also includes recent hits released since the movie premiered 21 years ago,” a news release said.
Performances of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” will play an extended two-week engagement at the Fox Threatre from April 19-30.
