ATLANTA — Police say a drunk driver struck and killed a pedestrian early Sunday morning in Buckhead.
The accident happened around 1:25 a.m. on Peachtree Rd. near Mathieson Drive near Buckhead Village. Police said a Cadillac was speeding north on Peachtree Rd. when the driver lost control and hit the back of a Jeep. The Jeep crashed into three cars in a nearby parking lot. The Cadillac then went off the road and hit a pedestrian before it flipped over and hit two more cars.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not been released.
Police identified the driver as Gabriel Zamora, 30. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The two people in the Jeep weren’t injured.
Zamora is being charged with homicide by vehicle, DUI, failure to maintain lane and open container of alcohol. Police said there may be additional charges.
