ATLANTA — The Atlanta Falcons are the first and only team in the NFL with 100% of its players vaccinated against COVID-19.
Channel 2′s Zach Klein learned about the vaccination rate Monday.
There are 84 players on the Falcons roster.
All Falcons and Atlanta United employees are required to be vaccinated by Oct. 1, but players don’t fall under that umbrella.

The NFL has not required players to be vaccinated, but the league said it will not extend the season to accommodate a COVID-19 outbreak among players that causes a game cancellation.

Teams with an outbreak will have to forfeit and be credited with a loss. The team responsible for the canceled game will cover financial losses and be subject to potential discipline.
By the end of July, more than 78% of players have had at least one shot and 14 clubs have at least 85% of players vaccinated.

The NFL season starts on Sept. 9 and the Falcons will play their first game on Sept. 12.
