ATLANTA — Funding to expand access to broadband internet across Georgia is available for families and businesses as part of a federal grant program.
U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff announced applications had opened for Georgians to apply for funds to get access to the internet as part of the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s Broadband Equity Access and Deployment provisions.
Eligible families, local governments, internet service providers and nonprofit organizations are now able to apply for funding to access or expand broadband internet through the Georgia Technology Authority’s online portal.

For the program, $1.3 billion is being made available in Georgia to help families and businesses access reliable internet service for education, health care, jobs, agriculture and other needs, according to Ossoff’s office.
“Our historic bipartisan infrastructure law continues to deliver for Georgia. Last year, we first announced this $1.3 billion in Federal funding to surge broadband connectivity across our state, and this is another major next step toward ensuring every Georgia family and business has high-speed Internet,” Ossoff said in a statement. “I encourage Georgia communities to contact me and my office with any questions about this grant opportunity.”
The first application deadline for BEAD is Jan. 15, 2025 at 5 p.m.
