ATLANTA — A man is in custody after an hours-long standoff in southwest Atlanta.
Neighbors told authorities that they heard a couple arguing and then gunshots early Friday morning.
Police officers were called and the victim told police that her boyfriend assaulted her and shot at her with a handgun. A short time later, SWAT arrived.
Channel 2's Liz Artz reported on Channel 2 Action News This Morning hearing flash bangs at the scene near Lee Street and Avon Avenue.
Residents said officers forced them to leave their homes out of fear for their safety.

“They actually had guns on us and when they realize our houses were separate and there wasn't a way for him to get to our house they thought we were helping them or something and told us to leave,” said resident Jeanna Sykes.
The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
