ATLANTA — Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is denying allegations that a flight attendant was fired for political or racial reasons.
Leondra Taylor, a former flight attendant, said she was fired for posting an image of former President Donald Trump wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood while debating President Joe Biden on her personal Facebook page.
The political cartoon was done after the presidential debate where Trump said, “proud boys, stand back and stand by,” when asked by the moderator if he would denounce white supremacists.
The lawsuit claims another employee alerted Delta to Taylor’s Facebook page, followed by the airline finding posts it deemed to violate its social media policy.

Taylor’s lawsuit alleges she was only making “political statements,” and the airline discriminated against her “because of her race.”
Delta in a statement says any employee mixing personal conduct or content not reflecting company values can be grounds for discipline or contract termination.
The airline says the circumstances in this case “are not an accurate or complete explanation” of Delta’s decision.
Taylor is suing for general and punitive damages due to mental and emotional suffering, and lost wages.
