ORIGINAL STORY:
A performance of ‘HAMILTON’ at the Fox Theatre was canceled at the last minute after the COVID-19 test results did not come back in time.
Representatives said that the show was canceled after the delays in COVID-19 testing results kept the touring company from putting the show on in a safe way for the cast and crew on stage.

Fans who had tickets for Wednesday night’s performance say they stood in line in the rain waiting to be let inside the theatre. Ushers later came out and told them the show had been canceled.
“We were very disappointed because we thought that people were joking originally when they said it was canceled, but it turns out it was true,” said Abigail Flowers, who came from Auburn, Alabama to see the show.
For many fans, they had been waiting almost two years for the performance. These shows were already rescheduled from 2020 dates that were put on pause because of the pandemic.
“Well I bought the ticket two years ago, and it’s just really upsetting that they canceled the event like not even a half an hour before,” said Madison Jajczyk who drove from South Carolina for the show.

Others were frustrated with the communication.
“They could have let us know there was a problem before we stood in the rain for 45 minutes,” Tara Sandler said.
The theatre says that Wednesday’s canceled performance will be rescheduled for next week. Ticketholders should hang on to their tickets until then.
If they cannot attend the rescheduled performance, refunds and exchanges will be available.
All future performances of ‘HAMILTON’ are expected to go on as planned.
