ATLANTA — Tens of thousands of people attended the big party at Underground Atlanta to ring in the new year with the return of the Peach Drop.
Channel 2’s Michael Doudna spent the evening Tuesday speaking with people who are super excited to bring in 2025 at one of the South’s biggest New Year’s events.
“It’s unexplainable, it’s so awesome. I’m so happy to be back to be a part of this,” one woman said.
The peach drop was back after a year off and the thousands of people are back too hoping to bring in 2025 with good music, good food, and good times.

“To see it come back this year, we are looking forward to it being bigger and better,” another man said.
Those thousands were not just locals but visitors from cities across the country coming here for a Southern start to the new year.
“This is nice, it’s something unique, something different, it’s exciting,” another woman said.
While security was tight after the year off, most are just focused on the celebrations thinking about what they hope 2025 brings.
“Our health. We both went through some health issues this year, so we are thankful to be here,” one couple told Doudna.
So, as 2024 winds down hope for 2025 springs eternal for people ready to watch a Peach Drop with family and thousands of others.
“It’s a blessing, that’s it,” a woman said.
