The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Carnell Kelly, ran from the station and into James Orange Park, according to the GBI.
Officers said Kelly pulled a knife when they confronted him and told him to drop the knife. Police tried to arrest the teen when they say he grabbed his knife and started to struggle with officers.
At some point during the struggle, a MARTA officer’s gun went off. No one was shot.
MARTA officers took Kelly into custody, but charges have not been announced.
