DUBLIN — Georgia Tech football is opening up its 2024 season in Ireland, sources told Channel 2 Sports Director Zach Klein.
The Yellow Jackets will face off with the Florida State Seminoles in Dublin to kick off the college football season, the weekend before Labor Day in 2024.
Back in 2016, Georgia Tech traveled to Dublin to play Boston College and won 17-14.
In 2022, Northwestern defeated Nebraska 31-28 in Dublin to kick off the college football season. This year, Notre Dame will play Navy on Aug. 26 in Dublin.

The Yellow Jackets’ punter, David Shanahan, is from Castleisland, County Kerry, Ireland, according to police.
Initially, the game was slated to be a home game for the Yellow Jackets, but instead, the news means the Yellow Jackets will have to forfeit a home game.

The official announcement is expected to be made later Wednesday.
