Massive fire breaks out at chemical plant near Atlanta’s airport

EAST POINT, Ga. — Officials at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport confirmed that the fire w not on airport property and flights are not being affected.

Video showed flames and black smoke at the facility on West Point Ave.

The company is called Alchemix. Officials at the plant said they believe that everyone got out of the building. It’s unclear if anyone was injured.

Channel 2′s Tom Jones was at the scene as the fire burned.

The fire was so large that smoke showed up on Severe Weather Team 2 radar.
