Herman Cain remains on oxygen a month after being hospitalized with COVID-19

ATLANTA — Former presidential candidate and current WSB Radio host Herman Cain remains in the hospital on oxygen nearly a month after being admitted for COVID-19.

Cain’s staff announced June 27 that he had tested positive for the virus. On Monday, they took to Cain’s Twitter account to say he was still battling the coronavirus.

“He is still in the hospital being treated with oxygen for his lungs. In the meantime, the doctors say his other organs and systems are strong,” the tweet said.

Officials said they were not sure how Cain contracted the virus. He attended President Trump’s rally in Tulsa June 20 as a campaign surrogate.

“We’d like him to be able to come home now, which is frustrating, but we’re glad the doctors are being thorough and making sure they do the job right. Thank you for praying, everyone. Please keep doing it. He really is getting better, which means it is working,” another Tweet from his account said.

Cain is currently the host of The Herman Cain Show at HermanCain.com and Herman Cain’s American on NewsmaxTV.

Cain left his show on WSB’s News 95.5 and AM 750 WSB in 2018 but continued to appear on the stations doing daily commentary.

Cain, 74, grew up in Georgia and attended Morehouse College. He was a contender for the Republican presidential nomination in the 2012 election.
