‘Suspicious package’ found at building near I-75 contained bleached powder, Atlanta fire says

ATLANTA — Officials have given the all-clear at a building in northwest Atlanta after multiple agencies responded to a suspicious package.

Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News the package was at 1800 Howell Mill Road in Atlanta. The building is right off Interstate 75 exit.

The address belongs to a building that has several businesses and doctors’ offices. A video shared by a Channel 2 viewer showed multiple fire trucks at the location and people standing outside the building.

Atlanta fire officials said the package was tested and found it had “bleached powder” inside of it.

Investigators later gave the all-clear Wednesday morning.
